Meetings

The Toowong History group meets every first Thursday of the month, except January.

Time : 7:00pm-8:30 pm.

Coffee and Tea available afterwards.

Venue: The Toowong State School Library. Enter via the Kate St gate and parking is on the school parade ground. The stairs to the library is immediately in front of the parking area.

The Toowong History group would like to acknowledge the generosity of the School in hosting our meetings.

Therese Murtagh will speak on the early years of Kangaroo Point featuring the river, ferries and hotels.

Following the archaeological dig carried out during the renovations of Brisbane City Hall, Ben Gall will present some rare photographs of early Brisbane before City Hall was built and some of the unusual finds which were unearthed during the excavation.
